A Lifetime Behind Us. A Century Ahead.
Busselton Revitalisation Project
A place that has carried families for 70 years.
Since 1928 Legacy WA has provided support for families, helping them navigate their way through complex challenges due to service.
Since 1956, Legacy WA's Busselton Camp has been the place they go to for respite. Like a lighthouse standing steady on the shore, it has called people in - a place to rest, recover and simply be.
For seven decades it has given - without being given to. And now, it needs our care.
THE CHALLENGE
No significant capital investment in over 70 years
Limited accessibility and inclusivity provisions
Sewage, power and gas utilities at or beyond capacity
Coastal erosion threatening buildings closest to the shore within 15 to 20 years
Existing facilities no longer reflect the evolving defence community needs
Current camp capacity insufficient for future operational and
family support needs
THE OPPORTUNITY
Up to 60 additional beds via new eco-cabin accommodation
Capacity to lift utilisation from approximately 3% to 80% with
targeted investmentRespond directly to 7 Royal Commission recommendations on veteran welfare
Provide rest and relaxation for AUKUS rotational forces, just 2 hours from HMAS Stirling
Activate a new Wellness Centre for allied health professionals and
transition programsExpand the capacity and benefits of annual Children’s & Youth Camp and Family Camp
Future proof the provision of wholistic support for our Australian defence service personnel
"It was the kind of place you never forgot."

Civil Works and Construction
Ground preparation, earthworks, drainage, roads and parking, accessibility ramps and pathways. If your crews can be on site, we need you.Landscaping and Environmental Restoration
The camp sits within a coastal native bushland reserve. We are seeking partners to support revegetation, coastal erosion management, outdoor living spaces, and the design and installation of the new camp grounds and gardens.Renewable Energy and Utilities
Solar system design and installation, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, water and sewage upgrades. The new cabins are designed to be off-grid capable, and we are looking for an energy partner to make that a reality.Technology, Connectivity and Security
High-speed internet (Starlink), campsite-wide WiFi, CCTV and site security systems, smart booking and access technology. A revitalised camp is a connected camp.Furniture, Fixtures and Fitout
Beds, linen, outdoor furniture, kitchen equipment, interior fitout for new cabins and refurbished rooms. Product donations and supplier partnerships are welcome.
Every great partnership starts with a conversation
We will work with you to shape something that is meaningful for your business and transformative for our community.
