At Legacy WA, we are committed to standing by the families of veterans who have selflessly served our nation.
At Legacy WA, we are committed to standing by the families of veterans who have selflessly served our nation. Behind every act of bravery is a family that also bears the weight of sacrifice, and we’re here to ensure they are never forgotten or left to face those challenges alone.
Legacy WA offers a range of professional services, programs and events aimed at ensuring the people we help are connected to a community that empowers them to grow and overcome the challenges of service-related impact.
Every family we support is different. Our professional case management team and experienced Legatee volunteers can help identify the support each individual may need.
Who we support
Young Families & Children
The effects of a veteran’s service can deeply touch the lives of their loved ones and may be felt for many years. Legacy WA is here to walk alongside families during times of change, helping them navigate challenges and move toward lasting wellbeing and resilience. We offer support to young families and children through:
Providing relief from financial hardship
Advocating for entitlements
Assisting with children’s education, development, and social connection
Navigating referral pathways to essential support services
War Widows & Partners
Many of those we support are older widows who lost their partners in conflicts prior to 1991. Legacy WA has a long history of standing beside this community, providing dedicated care and support to help ensure they don’t face the lasting impacts of their loved one’s service alone. We aim to help them live full, connected, and dignified lives in the face of loss. We offer widows:
Social connection experiences through groups, events and outings
Advocating for entitlements
Referral pathways to health and wellbeing care providers
Relief from financial hardship
Dependants With Disabilities
When a young child or adult with a disability is dependant on a veteran, Legacy WA will be there to assist them through their lives. We maintain regular contact to offer guidance on medical and social matters, helping them make informed decisions across all areas of their lives. We offer:
Lifelong care and support
Social connection through outings and groups
Skills for lifestyle independence
Pathways to relevant professional services
